The Perfect Bridesmaid Shoe

Wedding shoes are always a challenge. It's your wedding day and that makes every decision a big one. What will my colors be? What will my dress look like? What will my bridal party wear? And what shoes will they wear??!! Ugh, wedding shoes! What is it with wedding shoes? There is something about wedding shoes that are so old fashioned and so out-dated. Dyeables, satin, embellishments. Why can't wedding shoes simply be great shoes. Something you and your bridesmaids really CAN wear again? And not because you feel like you should since you just dropped a pretty penny on them but because you want to!

That's why I am so proud to tell you about one of the smartest brides
ever - Carrie! She did the ultimate UN-bridezilla thing and outfitted her bridal party with Söfft Shoes! What a considerate bride! Her bridesmaids looked absolutely adorable in their pink tea-length dresses and yellow Galen sandals from Söffts Spring 2008 Collection. They looked fabulous and felt fantastic all through the night....even after hours of ripping up the dance floor.

Thanks Carrie!

Söfft Fara Boot on New York's CW11 Morning Show

This morning, the Söfft Fara Boot was featured on New York City's CW11. Style Expert Nicole Young took us through Fall Fashion Must Haves and how to get a steal on the latest trends. Nicole says tall boots with a little bit of edge and attitude are all the rage. And the Fara boot is just that with its patent leathers, contrast french piping detail and a sassy exterior zipper. Thanks Nicole! Check out the video here!

FFANY AND QVC “Shoes on Sale”

On October 15 members of the footwear industry gathered for the 15th annual “Shoes on Sale” event presented by FFANY and QVC to benefit Breast Cancer Research.

The event took place at Manhattan’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel with a three hour telecast on QVC. Over 90,000 pairs of shoes were donated with $1.2 million sold at the event and even more sold on QVC*.

I was thrilled to be able to attend the event for Söfft! I mean, who wouldn’t want to go? First off, it is for a great cause! Secondly, I got to meet some amazing designers and celebrities like Reba McEntire, “Dancing with the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba, “Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style” co-host Gretta Monahan, “Project Runway” winner Christian Siriano and “What Not To Wear’s” co-host Stacey London. Also, it isn’t every day that the hottest shoes of the season are ON SALE!

I must admit, meeting Gretta Monahan was the highlight of my evening. As soon as we introduced ourselves and Söfft, Gretta had nothing but positive things to say about the brand, especially that we offer great fashion in hard to find sizes and widths! It is thanks to her that we were recently featured on the October 9 episode of Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style. Gretta was so sweet and we really can’t thank her enough for recognizing Söfft as a fashionable, comfortable brand of footwear!

All in all the evening was amazing and it is wonderful to contribute to such a wonderful cause. To learn more or donate, go to: http://www.qvc.com/cgen/render.aspx?qp=promoffany_2008_main&rewrite=no

Alison's First Post

Hello!
I just wanted to introduce myself as a new contributor to the Söfft blog. My name is Alison and I have been with Söfft for 2 and half years. I love working for Söfft and can be seen on a regular basis with Söfft on my feet! It is great to work for a brand that brings so much comfort and style to my everyday life.

My must-have style this Fall is the Selan, especially in the Caramel Multi. In my opinion it is the quintessential brown shoe that every girl needs. Seriously! Half the time when I get a brown shoe, I can only wear it with specific coordinating outfits. The color blocking on the Selan however makes it so versatile you can wear it with anything! I have already worn mine on multiple occasions!

Most Blogged About Söfft Shoes

Do you read blogs? Do you write a blog? It seems like there is a blog for everyone out there. There are blogs about fashion, blogs for women, blogs about shoes, blogs about other blogs....the list goes on! Despite what a blog might actually be "about", we find that many bloggers blog about things they love - whether its completely related to contents of their blog or not - because people love to share great news and unique discoveries. Fortunately for Söfft, women like us and there for they blog about us too! Perhaps it's because Söfft does in fact deliver great news and offers a unique product....we offer a special kind of footwear that women absolutely rejoice over when they discover us.

So, thank you to you bloggies out there who have helped spread the good word about Söfft. Blogs such as www.barkingdogshoes.com, www.thefashionablehousewife.com, theshoedish.com and www.runningwithheels.com (and many more) have lent their opinions and recommendations. In case you don't frequent blogs, here's what they had to say about some of the Söfft Fall 2008 Line:

1. Mela - City style unites with Western tradition in this fresh and fashionable slouch boot. The Elephant Gray seems to get the most buzz.

2. Gabby - Indulge in the decadent styling of this luxurious peep toe pump. The fact that Bristol Palin (Sarah's daughter) wore these in PEOPLE Magazine helped gain the Gabby some major buzz.

3. Frederica - The style and sophistication of this fresh ankle bootie reflect confidence and a classy look. Try it in crinkle patent leather and you'll definitely be a standout.

Honorable Mention: Calypso - although this particular shoe is about 2 years old and no longer in production, it is our most blogged about shoe and for that it deserves a little round of applause. And don't fret - we may have stopped making the Calypso but we haven't stopped making adorable maryjanes adorned with flowers. Check out the Veronica and keep an eye out for the Corine due out in the Spring of 2009

(Find remaining Calypso on Shoeline.com. Colors and sizes are limited but maybe you'll get lucky!)

Söfft at the 2nd Annual Project Smile Date Auction

Söfft Shoe was proud to be a part of Project Smiles 2nd Annual Date Auction held in Boston, MA on September 19th, 2008. The Date Auction is a fun way for local singles to mingle and meet people - and to bid on eligible Police Officers and Firemen! And of course, it's all for a good cause so we couldn't resist being a part of it.

Söfft played a rather unique role in the nights festivities. As each bachelor was introduced, not only would the bachelor appear and strut his stuff on the catwalk - he was also holding a pair of pumps from the Söfft Fall Collection! What a way to entice a lady to bid on a date! Whether or not a love match was made....at least the winning bidder got a pair of shoes out of it!

Söfft really enjoyed being a part of such a fun night, for such a wonderful cause - children.
Project Smile is a non-profit organization which donates stuffed animals, coloring books/crayons, small toys and children's reading books to police and fire departments for police officers, fire fighters and paramedics to give to children involved in traumatic situations. The Date Auction raised thousands of dollars for Project Smile. Thank you to the people of Project Smile for including Söfft.
