Tim Gunn Season Premier Featuring Söfft Shoes!

"Make it work" is not only Tim Gunn's mantra from BRAVO's Project Runway but it's also the words he lives by when helping people realize there own potential on his hit show, Tim Gunns' Guide to Style. This August, the Guide to Style comes back for a second season and Söfft is proud to be a part of the premier episode.

In the premier episode, Tim's female subject has always experienced problems finding shoes that not only fit her 7.5 wide foot but that also look fashionable. As Tim always does at the start of each show, Tim gives a wonderful gift to get the excitement going for the journey ahead. In this episode, Tim gives the gift of shoes...shoes that fit and look beautiful and are on-trend....Tim gives her Söfft shoes! Tim proves once again that he knows how to "make it work"!

Söfft Goes to Mexico

Since it is July of 2008 it's hard to imagine planning for Spring 2009 but that's exactly what we're doing in the offices of Söfft Shoe Co. Our product team is busily designing and perfecting samples in our factories for the upcoming WSA Shoe Show in Vegas and our Marketing Department is creating the image that you will soon see in magazines and on our website this time next year.

So what does that mean? Road trip! Well......sort of. Next week, we will be heading to beautiful Cabo, Mexico for our Spring 2009 photo shoot where - with the collaboration of our very talented crew of stylist, make-up artists and photographer and models - the Söfft vision will come to life!

Cabo was the destination of a previous Spring photo shoot and it was certainly one of our favorite places we've been. With it's historic towns, colonial architecture, and culturally rich ambiance, Cabo embodies an understated beauty and allure....just like Söfft.

Söfft On The Set of Bridal Wars

Check out the shoes on the lovely Anne Hathaway while ON SET of her upcoming movie Bridal Wars currently being filmed in Boston.....call me crazy but aren’t those the Gemma!? She sure does look happy wearing them! Thanks Anne!

Söfft Shoe Company Donates Shoes to Teachers of the Dancing Classrooms Project

Andover, MA – April 24, 2008 – Söfft Shoe Company, makers of women’s footwear brands Söfft and Softspots, today announced they are donating shoes to the teachers of Dancing Classrooms, a project of the American Ballroom Theater Company, a not-for-profit organization based in New York City.

Dancing Classrooms was created by American Ballroom Theater Company founder, Pierre Dulane. Dulane introduced the program to New York City Public Schools when he noticed the arts programs at these schools were being eliminated, leaving young students without any form of creative education. Dulane developed the program with the mission to build social awareness, confidence and self-esteem in children. When students learn to dance with a partner, they are also learning about respect, teamwork and care for others – benefiting the students both in the immediate and throughout adulthood.

Dancing Classrooms began in 1994 with one 5th grade class of 30 students. fourteen years later Dancing Classrooms now reaches over 200 schools in all 5 Burroughs on New York City, teaching almost 30,000 students in grades ranging from 4th – 12th. The program has also reached into other regions and continues to grow in areas including Omaha, NE, Dallas, TX, Fort Myers, FL, Canada and more.

This program has recently gained national recognition for their work through the 2005 documentary, Mad Hot Ballroom and more recently, the Hollywood production, “Take The Lead” starring Antonio Banderas.

Söfft is pleased to donate shoes to the hardworking, dedicated teachers of Dancing Classrooms. All of the New York City teachers will be receiving a pair of the Söfft brand style called the Calypso – a mid-heel style Mary Jane appropriate for dancing and casual wear. A generous discount is also being provided to teachers of the program Nationally.

“We are thrilled and honored to do something special for these teachers, who have already done so much for so many underprivileged children” says Söfft Shoe Representative Katie Kangas. “We have truly enjoyed working with the people of Dancing Classrooms and hope to find other ways to help this heartwarming project” Kangas said.

Check out the March 24th issue of Woman's World to see what they are calling the hottest Spring trends. The Söfft Raya was featured as part of the bold and bright color trend. The current March issue of Pregnancy and Newborn is on newsstands now but we've got a sneak peak for you right here on GOING SOFFT. The Söfft Phoebe was featured as a great pair of shoes to wear with denim. We couldn't agree more! What a great ensemble!

Spring Has Arrived At Your Local Shoe Store!

After a long winter and record snow fall, March is here to remind is Spring is just around the corner...finally. For some of us, digging out the our Spring wardrobe is still a little hard to fathom but it's never too early to shop for a few new spring styles. Retailers are fully stocked with the first spring deliveries and what a treat it is to see all the fantastic colors of the season. Gorgeous reds, optimistic yellows and ocean blues are abundant this season. It seems no color is "out" and there is this anything goes aura about this season. Be it flats, wedges, heels or flip flops, there is something out there for everyone. So get out there! Get those feet in pedi condition and welcome spring with open toes!
