Trend Report: FABLE

I'm sure every girl has wanted, or still wants, her own pair of ruby slippers.  Ever since Dorothy clicked her heels three times and those sparkling red shoes flashed across the screen, a love affair with red shoes was born.  While you may not be able to pull off sequin covered red heels everyday, the Fable mary jane can give you a pretty close look with it's sweet style and shimmering red patent leather.  And what better look to pair with red shoes than the classic leopard print, which is turning out to be a hot item for fall!

Style Spotlight: DVF

Diane von Furstenberg is best known for creating THE most figure-flattering dress in fashion history - the Wrap dress.  Seriously, there isn't a woman alive who doesn't look flawless in its design.  Von Furstenberg also dominates the world of prints in the fashion industry.  Her amazing talent for color and pattern combined with her design of beautiful, wearable pieces means that much of everything she shows on the runways will be instant classics.  For Fall 2010, she depatred a bit from her usual aesthetic with tailored menswear-inspired pieces and monochromatic looks but still kept the feminine feel that makes her clothing so recognizable.  And for those looking for distinctive dresses to add to their wardrobes, DVF most definitely did not disappoint!  All her looks were grounded by sexy black heels - if you find yourself in a famous DVF wrap dress, or a similar look, tie it all together with some hot styles from Söfft, the Amalfi, Belvedere and Adria:

Trend Report: Amalfi

The term 'fashion-forward' usually implies a look that is new, edgy, perhaps even 'out-there'. But sometimes, after always trying to come up with the next big thing, fashion takes a break and lets the past do the work from them. That's exactly what happened on the runways for fall, where we saw the resurgence of prim and proper looks inspired by 1950's. Hey - if it ain't broke, don't re-design it! So go ahead and dress like a lady with polished skirts and dresses, top-handle bags and the Amalfi, a refined and classic pump with a feminine bow. Now if only we could bring back the days of drive-ins, jukeboxes and ice cream counters...

Designer Spotlight: 3.1 Phillip Lim

Phillip Lim always seems to get it right, striking the perfect balance between new and exciting fashion and practical, wearable design. For fall, he was on-board with the minimalist and neutral trend, creating looks with luxurious layering and sleek lines. Of course, it wouldn't be a true Phillip Lim show without a flash of sequins...and who isn't in LOVE with those amazing coats?!? I can think of some perfect compliments to these outfits in some of Söfft's detailed suede styles, namely the Rilato, the Ophelia and the Stockholm. Check out our top looks from his Fall 2010 line!

Fall 2010 Fashion Tips Kickoff - the REYNA

Fall is the most transforming season. For almost everyone, it's the end of summer and the return to the more routine. For some, it's the beginning of a new school year, the end of a vacation, and for a select few perhaps the end of an era or the start of something exciting. But I think everyone here can agree that no matter where you are going, what you are starting or what you're leaving behind, there's no better transformation for your look than fall fashion. For a true fashionista, one might even argue for the soul. The texture, the layering, the coziness and the return of those comforting darker colors means endless options for the cooler and shorter days ahead. And with those cooler days comes more accessories - hats, gloves, scarves, are all outlets for showing off your style. And let us not forget about the single greatest transformation that fall brings to us: the return of the tall shaft boot. If that isn't enough to give you the chills, then perhaps you're reading the wrong blog.

To get you excited for fall, I'm introducing you first and foremost to the REYNA, our super sexy gladiator heel that calls to the edgier girl inside of us all. REYNA is a true rockstar, so dress appropriately in chic rock and roll style with gleaming hardware, zippers and studs while you paint the rest black!

Trend Report: Fiore

Let's face it, packing for a trip is hard. If you're like me, you try to prepare outfits based on your destination and how long you'll be there, but the inevitable extra three, four, or twenty-something pieces always find their way into your bag and before you know it, you're sitting on it just to zipper it closed, never mind breaking your back trying to lift it. Luckily, there are a few tricks to packing just right for a getaway - the most valuable one? Pack lightweight, dark colored, go-with-everything clothing. You'll be amazed at how many outfits you can pull together with the right accessories and just one or two key pieces of clothing. Take a cue from these summer vacation looks, using just one cotton dress and the chic Fiore sandal in gold!
